Deployment technology
Automated image building
XPS includes code and tooling to automatically generate disk images and install packages for several different deployment scenarios. For low volume and lab environments, install packages are generated. Those allow installation on Industrial PCs (IPCs) and virtual machines (VMs) that have an operating system already installed.
For high volume deployments, disk images and cloning technology is the way to go. Disks (like SSD or on-board flash memory) are initialized in one step at high speed. XPS automatically generates preparation of these disk images.

Air-gapped installation, operation and maintenance
Machines are often in environments where access to the internet or even any network is not available or plain prohibited.
Installing and updating such a system is not easily possible with many common software products. This includes several used in XPS.
iplus1 makes sure that installation, operation and maintenance are always possible even in completely unconnected systems.

In-place update system
As all software systems, XPS should be regularly updated along with its operating system components. iplus1 delivers updates for XPS as well as the automation to install these updates with minimal manual intervention. Even air-gapped systems without any outside connectivity can be updated from a single file source like a USB thumb drive.

Integration into IT and/or OT networks and online access
If available and wanted, XPS can be integrated into standard customer networks for usage and maintenance.
Access to XPS is always transport encrypted and no authenticated access is allowed unless explicitly configured
Deployment options
XPS next to your PLC in the machine cabinet
Make XPS a natural extension to your machine offering. A small IPC (Industrial PC) can host the whole XPS stack.
iplus1 delivers install packages as well as complete disk images for rollout on IPCs.
You already use an IPC in the cabinet? Let's talk about extending it with XPS!
XPS on a customer virtual machine (VM)
Your customer needs XPS but there is no IPC installed yet?
XPS can be installed on on-premises traditional IT infrastructure. iplus1 delivers VM images as well as update packages for quick and easy installation, updating and maintenance of XPS even on customer infrastructure.
XPS in the cloud
Customers preferring cloud resources can also run XPS in their public or private cloud tenant.
iplus1 delivers deployment automation for all major cloud providers along with update packages for quick and easy installation, updating and maintenance of XPS.
